  It was not the memorial, but I had a friend use a great one. Quote, "My window in my truck was broken, I could not roll it up, it was raining and water got in my ear on my ride home. Now I have an ear ache! there is no way that I can go to the meeting!"

  what are some beliefs witnesses had that would disqualify them from being the faithful and discreet slave?....i will start with a couple..they believed god lived on alcyone and promoted spiritism by encouraging the friends to read "angels and women"...there must be loads more

  motivations for creating the "Jonadabs"

  i know that shortly after rutherford dismissed the idea that the new covenant was only for the jews (as taught by russell) he eventually began to formulate his new doctrines of how he felt it did apply to people.

  but i'm a little lost as to why exactly he chose to create this doctrine.. what were some of the deeper motiviations rutherford had in creating this doctrine?

  i flipped through pentons book but he really doesn't get into it.

  my mother-in-law is a jw (not a fanatic).

  she goes to the meetings every now and then; she occasionally goes out preaching.

  i was asked an interesting question by a jw relative and was not exactly sure how to answer it...thought i would throw it out to the scholars on the board:.

  what was the expectation of an afterlife for faithful ones living before jesus was sacrificed?...did they believe they would have an afterlife on earth or in heaven?.

  new anointed rejected by the wt-society.

  i listened through the lates download wt, june 15, 2009. www.jw.org there is an article: the faithful steward and its governing body.. this article makes it clear that new anointed will not be consulted in preparing spiritual food.

  other sheep are also told in other words not to listen to the opinion of new anointed in the congregations.. .

  That the anointing stopped in 1935 is "old light". The "new light" is that there is no time table on how long after 1914 there can be newly anointed ones.
